Be A Klutz! Books To Entertain Your Kids (And You)
Road trips with impatient children in the backseat can make a pleasurable vacation seem like a living nightmare. Families drive each other crazy en route to their destination and by the time they arrive they can barely speak to each other. There are lots of games that can be played in the car but they’ve all been played many times and can grow boring rather quickly. Klutz, Inc. has a variety of books in its collection that may be of interest to families. They publish almost every form of activity book imaginable, from showing people how to play games with string to making a pot holder. The Klutz books will even show you all of the tools that are needed. Books are fun and worded so that any age can understand and finish a project, which has proven many times to be a relief to traveling families.
On my family’s last road trip, I purchased my son a Klutz travel book called “A Backseat Survival Kit”. The activities in it lasted him for hundreds of miles with only a few minor tantrums. His displeasure mainly came from dropping markers on the floor and whining until he could reach them. Klutz even has books that encourage kids to learn to draw, and my son was a big fan of drawing his favorite superheroes. There were moments that he’d show me a picture that he’d drawn and I’d have to guess several times until I figured out who it was. So he needs a little more practice with his drawing skills. I certainly can’t help him in that area as my drawing skills are limited to stick figures and basic shapes.
I’ve purchased some wonderful gifts for family members through Klutz. My niece just hit middle school last year and some of the activity books proved to be great fun for her at sleepovers. She thanks me every time she sees me.
When we’re not on a road trip, Klutz Inc. offers many other books. They do cater to homeschoolers, but, it has been my experience that anyone can learn and have fun with the topics they offer. There have been several times that when helping my child complete an activity or creation, I myself have been secretly pleased with the basic concepts that I have learned as well. Klutz has done an amazing job of putting together a wonderful collection of various topic and activities, and I am willing to bet that many families out there will join me in thanking them.
