Janet Jackson Drops Her Record Label

Janet Jackson had signed to Island Records on July 2007, releasing Discipline her only album with them in February. Although it reached number one in the US album charts, it quickly plummeted, leading to the 42-year-old singer publicly venting her frustration with the label in June.

“I’m trying to figure out a way to say this, but just to say it and to be quite honest, they just stopped all promotion whatsoever on the album.”

Hence, she quit her record label. She demanded that Island Records to terminate her contract after just over a year with the company because she has grown increasingly frustrated by their efforts to promote her music.

Now, more than 20 years after the release of her iconic album ‘Control’, Janet will have autonomy over her career, without the restrictions of a label.”

Mozart Piece Found in France

An unknown sheet music was found in a French Library with written notes indicating that it was from the prolific Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Dr Ulrich Lessinger from the International Mozarteum Foundation in Salzburg, Austria, says although most of the music is missing, it is easy to make sense of the tune from the harmony and instrumentation.

“Even though there is not that much music on that paper as one would like in order to perform it, it still gives us important clues about his intentions,” he said.

Actress Julia Haworth has given birth to her first Child, the baby weighed 8lb 11oz. We all know that Haworth, who plays Claire Peacock on the popular soap, gave birth to daughter Sophia on Friday.
