If you are fond of some video clips from a DVD movie and want to add it to the slideshow you are making with your Windows Movie Maker, you may get into the trouble that the DVD format is incompatible with Windows Movie Maker. The following step by step tutorial may help you out of the headache.
Before getting started, let’s know something about DVD and Windows Movie Maker.
General DVDs have CSS copy protection in MPEG-2 or VOB format.
Windows Movie Maker is a totally free program that comes with Windows XP Home Edition, Windows XP Media Center Edition, Windows XP Professional, and Windows Vista (also called Windows DVD Maker). Windows Windows Movie Maker supports WMV, AVI and MPG video files.
To put DVD movie clips into Windows Movie Maker, you need to convert your DVD to WMV or AVI video first, and then load it into your Windows Movie Maker project. I’d prefer using Aiseesoft DVD Ripper to do this. ( free download )
Step 1. Import DVD movie
Insert the DVD disc into your DVD drive and click “Load DVD” to locate and import your DVD movie. Or you can add DVD IFO file by clicking “Load IFO File”.

The following DVD to iTunes Mac guide is going to share with you how to convert DVD to iTunes format, transfer DVD to iTunes Mac for iPod and iPhone using DVD Ripper for Mac. a. Load files by clicking the “Add…” button.
b. Directly drag and drop files to the left main window.
c. Right click on the left main window, click “Add files”.
Step 3. Select the output format
By clicking the “Convert audio to:” or “Convert video to:” box, you can select the output format for the source M4P M4V files. For example, if you want to watch the DRM iTunes M4V on your PSP, you can choose “PSP, PS3? from the profile category list and choose “PSP Video MPEG-4(*.mp4) as the output format.
Note: This DRM Removal Software also allows you to customize the video/audio parameters for the output files if you are not satisfied with the default settings or cannot find the most appropriate output format for your specific mobile player. Just click the “Settings…” button to make the settings.
Step 4. Start to convert M4P M4V files
