Potty Training Your Puppy Takes Patience

Who doesn’t love a new puppy!  Like babies, they have to learn from their caregivers. When potty training your puppy, remember to be patient while they learn.

I posted an article that details the steps required when potty training your puppy, as well as when is the best time to bring them home.

If you catch him in the act, carry him, or put him on a leash and show him the results he’s deposited on the floor or carpet. No need to rub his nose in it, just show him. As with most puppy training, using a specific phrase consistently allows him to associate the act with the desired behavior or consequences. A gently spoken, “No, bad dog!” is a good standard phrase, emphasis on “bad”. This then becomes associated with any bad dog behavior.
